Volunteers help horses find loving homes
—
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Happy Tails Haven Horse Rescue volunteers celebrated National Horse Rescue Day Friday.
The rescue is located on Elk Creek Road north of Box Elder, and they’ve rehabilitated dozens of abused and neglected horses in the past decade and helped them find permanent homes.
“In the past 10 years, we have helped around 50 horses find loving homes and we still go out and visit them and see how they’re doing and check up on them,” Happy Tails Haven Treasurer Teshia Larsen said.
If you are interested in adopting a horse or volunteering with the organization, you can find more information on the Happy Tails Haven Facebook page.
