An 87-year-old Cape Breton woman fulfilled her dream of meeting one of her favourite country music artists, thanks to a charity that grants wishes for seniors.
Carmel Scanlan loves Johnny Reid’s music. She flew to St. John’s to watch him in concert on Sept. 26.
“I just love his singing,” Scanlan said. “He’s a wonderful man. He’s so down to earth and he’s so caring. It was really nice.”
When Scanlan met Reid, he asked her what her favourite song is. She said Darlin’ and when he performed it, he pointed to her in the crowd.
At home with her concert T-shirt, signed photograph of Reid and memories of dancing the night away, Scanlan said she will never forget her time meeting the country star.
Scanlan’s family says Johnny Reid spent time with her, talking about music and family. (We Are Young)
